Visiting Bermuda is very pricey?

I had noticed that Bermuda cruises are very expensive compared to Caribbean cruises. Why is that? Is Bermuda worth visiting? For August which is the only time that I can travel, prices are over $1100 for Bermuda cruises per person leaving from NY (my current location). I had been on a lot Caribbean cruises so I want to try something new. Is Bermuda worth the expensive price to visit?
