Should people living on an isolated island be marrying each other?

I live in Bermuda and there are about 60k people here... Just about ever other piece of land is about 2 hours away by plane. I'm wondering is it okay for people to be dating in such an isolated place? I remember when I was young my father would always talk to my people in my grade, and after asking them a few questions he would find out they were cousins to me some how... I always found this weird and it made me not want to date anyone here for fear of them being related to me. In small towns and stuff in the states youre at least part of a bigger space... But here people are isolates. Do you think 60k is a large enough number to date people and not run into issues of them being related to me some how?
